Quantification and characterization of municipal solid waste is the basis for proper planning of solid waste management but required the collection, transportation, characterization and disposal much less investigated and almost carried out at the University of Nigeria. This study, therefore, measured and marked waste generated at the university of Nigeria, Nsukka campus using ASTM D5231-92 method, and recommended the possibility of an integrated waste management strategy for the sustainable management of garbage.
Daily average waste generation in university estimated 2,218.66kg during the 6-month study period from 24 February to 18 August in the 2017/2018 academic session with organics and plastics represent the largest share at 32.36% and 34.29%, respectively , Glass / bottles, textiles / leather, rubber, wood, e-waste, sanitation, health, food and waste polystyrene packages metals representing 0.97%, 2.69%, 0.28%, 0.82%, 0.98 %, 2.16%, 0.16%, 1.04% and 1.67%, respectively. This campus has a level of waste generation per capita of about 0.06kg / day. About 96.58% of the total waste is recycled, and has the potential of biomass approximately 51.85%.
Analysis of variance showed that different areas of the campus have dominated different quantities and composition of waste is mainly due to a significant variation of organic and plastic components across different regions dominated. Barriers to effective waste management and integrated waste management strategy recommendations made to include the generation of solid waste reduction, re-use, recycling, composting, and proper training and the provision of incentives and other fiscal policies. adapts behavior such as triggering the disintegration affords broad scope and utility for (bio) materials in diverse applications in materials science and engineering.
The impact of these materials continues to grow due to the increasing importance of environmental considerations as well as the increased use of implants in medical practice. However, examples of such materials is still small. In this work, we engineer hydrogel biomaterial liquefaction triggered in response to the internal local heating, mediated by a near-infrared light as an external stimulus. It’s engineered to adapt the behavior of the physical hydrogels provided by poly (vinyl alcohol), using gold nanoparticles or photothermal organic dye as a heat generator.

Half a century amyloid: past, present and future
amyloid disease is a global epidemic with profound health, social and economic implications, but still without the drug. This terrible situation calls for research of origin and pathologic manifestations of amyloidosis to stimulate the further development of new therapies.
In the basic science and engineering, architecture cross-β has been a thread of constant underlying structural characteristics of amyloid pathological and functional, and realized that the structure of amyloid can become pathological and functional in nature has sparked innovation in amyloid-made, which is used today range from water purification for 3D printing.

Description: Immunoglobulin M (IgM) is a basic antibody that is present on B cells. It is the first antibody to appear in response to initial exposure to antigen. IgM forms polymers where multiple immunoglobulins are covalently linked together with disulfide bonds, mostly as a pentamer. Demonstrating IgM antibodies in a patient's serum indicates recent infection, or in a neonate's serum indicates intrauterine infection (e.g. congenital rubella).
Description: Primary antibody against IgM Immunoglobulin(IM373), CF405S conjugate, Concentration: 0.1mg/mL

At the end of the half century since Eanes and Glenner these seminal studies of human amyloid, this review commemorate the occasion by documenting major milestone in amyloid research to date, from the perspective of structural biology, biophysics, medicine, microbiology, engineering and nanotechnology. We also discuss new challenges and opportunities to foster this interdisciplinary field to move forward.
